Priority gritting routes

We operate a priority system for the treatment of roads, pavements and cycle routes within the city boundary.

Check which priority route covers your street on our interactive map of gritting routes and salt bin locations. Alternatively, you can search by street name in our directory of gritting routes, and directory of salt bin locations. 

Please note that in certain conditions, the highest priority routes will need treated repeatedly in which case it may take some time before other roads, especially residential streets, can be treated.

In severe weather, the Council's gritters and staff will work to the maximum possible level round the clock.
