Green flag parks

The Green Flag scheme recognises and rewards the best parks and greenspaces in Britain. The Green Flag Award Scheme in Scotland is run by Keep Scotland Beautiful who award the flags to the best parks every year.

Edinburgh has 32 city parks with Green Flag status

Corstorphine Hill Community Walled Garden also holds a green flag community award.

Looking after our parks

To make sure our parks are kept to a high standard, each year we check all our parks and gardens using Green Flag Award criteria. This is undertaken by formal Green Flag judges along with other council officers, council partners and members of the public. From this assessment, each park is given a parks quality score. These scores are used to better manage and improve our parks.

Email the Green Flag co-ordinator for information or to take part in the park quality assessments.
