Saughton Park playground development
Plans are in place to develop a playground for all at Saughton Park. This work is separate to the main Heritage Lottery Fund funded restoration works.
These plans were developed following extensive consultation with the local children and their families. The plans aimed to make the playground more inclusive for all children to enjoy and to provide more opportunities for natural and adventurous play. The proposals include equipment
- that is wheelchair accessible
- for sensory play
- for toddlers
- that goes faster and higher.
Flower beds, trees and space for picnics, with windbreaks, make the playground a pleasant space to spend time and explore.
We secured funding earlier this year. Work is now complete and the playground is open.
We want to thank everyone who took part in the consultation. Your feedback has been invaluable in developing plans which will make sure our playground is welcoming to all children regardless of their age and ability.
