Growing food in Edinburgh

Help to grow your own

Several projects in Edinburgh offer the chance for you to garden and grow your own food.

The Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens supports and promotes community gardens and can provide information on registered gardens in Edinburgh.

Edinburgh Garden Partners match people who garden with people who have space to share. To be a volunteer or find out more, contact

Edible Estates seeks to improve tenement gardens by bringing households together and improving their shared gardens. They also run 'Grow Your Own' courses, which provide advice on a range of topics from building raised beds to planting fruit bushes.
