Men convicted of domestic abuse
Caledonian Edinburgh runs a programme to help men convicted of domestic abuse to change their behaviour.
Only men convicted of an offence can take part as part of a community payback order from the court.
At the court's request, you will meet with one of our workers to see if you are suitable for the programme. We will ask you about your behaviour and why you want to change.
The programme is part of the Caledonian System and you can find out how the men's programme is linked to other parts of the system on the Scottish Government website.
If you have not been convicted, you can get help for men being abusive who haven't been convicted.
Our programme aims to help you to
- understand why you have been abusive
- take responsibility for your behaviour and attitudes
- take responsibility in your relationship with your partner or ex-partner and children
- behave positively.
You will have 14 one to one meetings with your worker. Then you will join a group for 26 weekly meetings.
Support for partners
We also offer a support service to partners or ex-partners. We do not work with men and women side by side as couples.
