Gaelic classes and courses for adults
If you are an adult learner, you can choose from a variety of Gaelic language classes and courses:
- we run popular daytime and evening classes for adults
- Clì Gàidhlig,the national Gaelic learners' organisation, supports classes following the national standard rapid fluency Ùlpan course
- the University of Edinburgh's Lifelong Learning programme caters for students at all levels
- Edinburgh 's Telford College offers term time Gaelic courses and an evening / weekend courses including Gaelic for Hillwalkers
- distance-learning, individual and family courses are offered through the Sabhal Mòr Ostaig College in Skye. They also offer occasional courses in Edinburgh
- Bothan, Edinburgh's Gaelic club, meets monthly and offers native speakers and learners the chance to speak Gaelic in an informal situation.
There are many organisations in Edinburgh and across Scotland involved in Gaelic development, arts, culture, leisure, media, business and government, education and learning. The Council also has its own Gaelic Arts Strategy.
