Nursery and primary school
The Gaelic medium unit at Tollcross Primary School caters for nursery and primary pupils from all over the city. The children are taught the full curriculum through the medium of Gaelic, and their achievements are nationally recognised whether or not Gaelic is the language of the home. Pupils from the Gaelic medium Unit consistently win prizes in the National Mod in various categories.
Bun-sgoil Taobh na Pàirce (Parkside Primary School)
The city's new dedicated Gaelic Primary School, Bun-sgoil Taobh na Pàirce (Parkside Primary School) will open its doors in August 2013 in the former Bonnington Primary School building. Although no previous knowledge of the language is required for entry to P1, previous experience of Gaelic at nursery/cròileagan level is desirable.
Arrangements are about to begin for the admission of pupils to the first year of primary education in August 2013. Your child is eligible to attend the primary school if he/she will be five years of age before the last day of February 2014. Pupil registration will take place during the week beginning 12 November 2012; the school will be able to tell you the time and day to come.
