Resident permit holders - change of details

You may need to change your permit either due to a change of vehicle or change of address. Download the application pack below and provide us with the relevant information.

Your application should be made at least seven working days before the date you need the permit. If you are posting your application we aim to process it within seven working days.

Change of vehicle

For permanent changes we need

  • your existing parking permit
  • a completed application form
  • documentation linking the applicant to the new vehicle, such as insurance, vehicle registration document or garage invoice.

If there will be an over lapping period when you will be in possession of two vehicles for a short period of time, we can issue a temporary permit for a maximum of five days.

We still need you to return your existing permit to process the two new permits.

Change of address - same zone or different zone

We need to know of any change of address as soon as possible.

If you are moving house within the same zone we still need to know about the change so that we can update our records but you do not have to return the permit.

The quickest way to link you to your new address is to confirm that you have registered there for Council Tax. This includes students who may be exempt from Council Tax but must still register at the address.

If you have not registered for Council Tax we require proof of address for the new property, which can be attached to your application. We will consider a

  • current lease, not form AT5
  • mortgage agreement signed within the last three months and NOT a mortgage offer
  • current bank statement or household bill showing address and/or
  • medical card.

Temporary permits

If you move house to another zone, we can issue a temporary permit for the previous address for up to five days.

We still require the return of your existing permit to process the two new permits.

Urgent applications

If you require your new permit urgently you are advised to attend in person to our Customer Hub at 249 High Street (up to  Friday 9 June 2017 only, after that you will have to attend the Drumbrae Hub)

We will try to process applications on the day of receipt however at busy times that may not be possible and we may move to an appointment based system if that enables us to provide a better service during these times.

Our aim is for changes to existing permits to be processed on the day and first time applications to be processed within seven working days.

Customer Hub opening hours are

  • Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30am to 4:30pm
