These will be delivered to residents in the West Pilton area as part of the drive; urging careless pet owners to clean up after their dogs and to generally educate people that dog fouling is not socially acceptable.

The campaign will see posters installed on lampposts along West Pilton promoting a cleaner, green Edinburgh. Pirniehall and St David’s primary’s schools have been asked to take part in a poster competition alerting the residents that dog dirt is unacceptable

Environmentally friendly biodegradable paint will be used to spray stencil onto pavements at strategic locations. They will feature an image of a dog squatting over the words “Don't make our city EdinbURGH!”

The campaign will bring together a number of other council partners and agencies in a joint working taskforce, which will also utilise the CCTV mobile unit.
