Calton Hill clean up

A Communty Clean-up is where our local teams, working with volunteers, tidy-up an area in their community by supplying equipment and where possible some man power. A great example of this is one organised by Clovenstone Neighbourhood Council last year. The local residents identified areas which they wanted to improve and then contacted us to see how we could help. We supplied the group with litter picking equipment, arranged to have the vegetation cut back and collected the waste which the group gathered.

"The Council's input has been fantastic" said local resident and organiser Samantha McFarlane. "The clean up went better than I ever could have expected, the support from everyone involved gave the whole day a real buzz. It was great to bring people from all over the community together with a common goal, it shows everyone that people do care about their communities and are willing to do what it takes to make it a better place to live."
