Our successful environmentally themed creative writing competition, open to all P4-P7s in Edinburgh is running again this year.
To tie in with 2013 being the Year of Natural Scotland the theme this year is ‘Scotland's wonderful weather?!’
We want to encourage pupils to write about the one aspect of the environment that really does affect everything in the natural world.
You may choose to write about the different types of weather and how the elements impact on our everyday lives, as well as thinking about how our weather shapes the landscape and affects Scottish wildlife…. plants, birds, insects and animals.
The competition launches on 29 August with a 11 October closing date and final awards ceremony at the Central Library on 29 November.
Find out more about last year’s competition on the next page.
Additional support materials and guidance about taking part will be available on these pages after the summer holidays.
