Stand as a candidate at the UK Parliamentary General Election
To stand as a candidate in the UK Parliamentary General Election on 8 June 2017 you need to submit nomination forms.

Completed forms and related papers should be submitted to the Elections Office from Monday 8 May 2017 until Thursday 11 May 2017, from 10am to 4pm.
Contact the Elections Office to make an appointment for your papers to be delivered or for them to be checked informally before you submit them. Staff will be available from 10am each day.
We accept papers for candidates standing in the five constituencies in the Edinburgh Council area. The constituencies are
- Edinburgh East
- Edinburgh North and Leith
- Edinburgh South
- Edinburgh South West
- Edinburgh West.
We also accept forms provided to candidates by a political party.
A fee of £500 is payable when submitting the nomination papers and this can be paid by
- debit or credit card.
The funds must be in the Returning Officer's bank account by 4pm on Thursday 11 May 2017 or the nomination will not be valid.
Candidate and agents briefing event
A briefing event for candidates and agents will be held on Thursday 18 May 2017 at 6pm in the Business Centre, City Chambers. If you would like to attend please advise the Election team.
