Building Warrants - Building Standards Register
Building Standards Register
The City of Edinburgh Council, as verifier in terms of the Building (Scotland) Act 2003, is required to maintain a register of Building Warrants, Completion Certificates and Enforcement Notices. Information on each specific subject is listed below.
Building Warrants and Completion Certificates
Using the Planning and Building Standards portal (PublicAccess) you can search through all Building Warrants and related Completion Certificates. Details of all applications lodged from mid 1990 together with some earlier applications are also available.
Enforcement Notices
The Portal also allows you to view the list of Enforcement Notices served since 1st May 2005 by the Council in terms of the Building (Scotland) Act 2003.
The notices are held against the individual property. After following the link below to open the PublicAccess Module home page, please use the "Property Search" option on the left hand side to carry out a search.
If a notice has been issued, a "Notices" tab will appear against the property details and there will be a date under the "Date Notice Served" column along with other information.
Where "No Details" appears under the "Date Notice Served" column then a notice has not been issued. This will be the result of Building Standards still considering if any action is required or that a notice will not be issued.
