Submitting Building Warrant Applications On-Line

The City of Edinburgh Council now provides a number of Planning and Building Standards services online through its Planning and Building Standards Portal. Through the Portal you can now submit, view, and follow the progress of either Building Warrant applications or Planning applications.

The Building Warrant on-line service is currently limited to building warrant applications where the value of the work is £35,000 or less. See update below.

Update - Applications submitted on or after 3rd January 2011

- A paper copy of the plans is only required when the application is ready to be granted a building warrant.

- Estimated cost of work rises to £70,000.

New Users - Users who are new to this service will require to register and should ensure they read the two guidance notes on how to Register to use the Portal and how to Submit a Building Warrant On-line before submitting an application.
