Major planning applications

Pre-application advice

Applicants are encouraged to discuss major or complex proposals with the Planning service before submitting a planning application to clarify the process and get advice on the acceptibility of the proposals. These enquiries are dealt with by Principal Planners.

The hierarchy of developments sets out what category a development falls into.
Complete a pre-application screening opinion to find out if your development falls within the national or major categories.

Proposals for national and major applications require pre-application consultation with local communities.
