Edinburgh City Local Plan

The Council adopted the Edinburgh City Local Plan on 28 January 2010. The Plan covers the whole of the urban area, and part of its rural, Green Belt fringe.

Two housing allocations have been quashed by the Court of Session in a decision issued on 6 May 2011. HSG 14 and HSG 15 are no longer housing allocations in the plan. Two further allocations at Newcraighall, a bus safeguard and an open space proposal (OSR 5 in the local plan as adopted), should also be regarded as quashed. The changes to the written statement and the proposals map are available.

The timetable for preparing the Council's first local development plan, which will replace the Edinburgh City Local Plan, remains as stated in the 2011 development plan scheme.
