Rural West Edinburgh Local Plan

Rural West Edinburgh Local Plan Alteration - Post Examination

On 24 February 2011, the Planning Committee agreed 8 modifications to the Finalised RWELP Alteration. These were recommended by the Examination report recieved from Scottish Ministers following the development plan examination.

We are now nearing the end of the process for the Alteration. Copies of the Alteration in the form that the Council proposes to adopt and a list of the 8 modifications are now available for inspection purposes.

An advert will be in the Evening News on Friday 25 March letting people know that these documents are available to view free of charge in 7 Council libraries (South Queensferry, Kirkliston, Ratho, Currie, Balerno, Corstorphine and Central), at the Council's Planning reception at Waverley Court, 4 East Market Street and on the Council's website.

The Council will now send the Alteration to Scottish Ministers. Provided they don't direct otherwise within 28 days, the Alteration can then be adopted. The target date for this is 2 June 2011.

There is no opportunity for formal comment at this stage but if you have any queries, please contact Alison Kirkwood, Principal Planner on alison.kirkwood@edinburgh.gov.uk or (0131) 469 3590.
