Social life and keeping well

Keeping active and healthy

There are many ways for older people to stay active and remain as healthy and independent as possible.

You will find a wide range of social, educational, cultural and leisure activities in Edinburgh in the Get up and go programme.

If you have difficulty getting to your local library, you can have books delivered to you. A minibus may also be available to take you to your local library.

Social care day services help older people who need support to keep active, meet with other people and give carers a break.

Work and volunteering

You can volunteer your time and skills with local and Council services.

Information and advice from Scotland's Business Gateway can help you turn a hobby, interest or idea into a business.

Get on Edinburgh can support you to find an opportunity to learn new skills or find a job.
