Telecare

Telecare is a simple system that can tell us when there is an emergency in your home and allows us to get help to you straight away. Telecare can be provided alongside any other services you have like home care and offers 24 hour monitoring and support. It provides a system that automatically alerts the Community Alarm Service to get the help you need if you become ill or something is wrong.

If you have an Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or District Nurse they can arrange for a Telecare package to be installed in your home. If you don't get any professional support then you, a member of your family, a friend or neighbour can call our Assessment and Advice Service on 0131 529 7661 and we will make arrangements to visit you to find out what kind of Telecare support you need.

You will not be charged for the installation, maintenance, repair or removal of any equipment. You may have to pay for the monitoring service and we can let you know what you might have to pay by assessing your individual financial circumstances.

Benefits of having a Telecare package are:

  • peace of mind for you, your family and your carers
  • allowing you more freedom to live more independently in your own home
  • allowing you to continue to live where you have friends, family and neighbours
  • helping you to avoid going into a care home
  • assisting you in getting back home from hospital
  • someone will know when something might be wrong.
