Buses in Edinburgh are a huge success story. Over 70% of residents agree that the services are good and the statistics are impressive. Every day there are over 350,000 passenger journeys on Lothian Buses services alone and 30% of residents take the bus to work. Unlike many other areas, bus use in Edinburgh is increasing every year.

The standard among many of the bus companies operating in Edinburgh is excellent, but there is room for improvement. The aim of this strategy is to set standards for the short-term (one to two years), as well as for the future (three to five years).
