Short breaks for carers

Arranging a short break or respite

We know that many carers value a short break from caring.  We have different options available depending on the needs and preferences of the person who is cared for, including

  • in a care home, staying for a few days in a care home with the advantage of staff available day and night
  • using a Direct Payment
  • by a range of day services for older people.

If you want to arrange a short break or respite, you can ask us for advice or to assess your needs.  To find a provider of short breaks and respite, you can search our care home directory. If you need more information on paying for a short break or respite.

You may also be interested in short breaks for people with learning disabilities.
