Reporting a dangerous structure

How to report an issue with a dangerous building

A dangerous building or structure can be many things.  The most common defects are things like cracking or bulging walls, partially collapsed buildings, items hanging from a building, blocked drains and decaying elements of buildings (stone in particular).

If you see a fault with a building or structure you should report this to the Property Conservation team.  Even if you're unsure whether the defect is dangerous, please report it and let us be the judge.  We will make a full assessment and take the appropriate action.

If there's an issue within your own property that isn't dangerous, but requires to be repaired, you can have a Statutory notice applied.  Information on Statutory Notices is available.

Please note: You don't have to report incidents where the Fire Brigade are attending as they automatically contact us.

How to report

If you see a dangerous building report it to us straight away (contact details below). One of our emergency officers will respond to the call and investigate the situation.  They will ensure that the relevant measures are taken to ensure members of the public are protected from any risk.
