Right First Time - Minor Road and Pavement Repairs

The Council provides around £2m annually for the repair of minor road and pavement defects across the City and has recently announced an additional investment of around £3m.

Work will start immediately, with this announcement providing:-

• 6 repair squads to make permanent repairs with hot materials to roads and pavements across the City's six Neighbourhood areas.
• 2 repair squads to make permanent repairs to paving slabs and kerbs in the City Centre.   

Our Aim

Right First Time - a first time permanent repair of minor road and pavement defects.

The Right First Time Approach

Inspection staff are currently at work compiling repair schedules in Neighbourhoods across the City. Repair schedules will identify:-

• minor road and pavement defects (minor means defective areas up to 10m2 in size).
• where repair areas are identified which are greater than 10m2 in size, these will be noted on the works management system and actioned as soon as the appropriate resources become available.
