Renewing your permit
If you are renewing your permit, you can now do this on-line. You may find our permit price calculator helpful to determine the cost of your parking permit. Please note if you are a disabled badge holder we are unable to accept online renewals at this time.
Please note: Residents permit prices changed on 1 April 2012. Please make sure you enter the correct amount otherwise your submission may be delayed. New prices are available using the permit price calculator or on our residents permit pricing page.
New permits
Is this the first time you have applied for a permit? If so and you live in the CPZ, you will need to fill out our residents' application form. Find out which zone you live in with our interactive map. If you live in the southern Grange you will need our Priority Parking application form. Before you can get a new residents' permit we need to see some documents. This is to prove you are the main driver and that you live within the Controlled Parking Zone. Please note that we can accept photocopies of your documents. You can also find some useful residents' permits definitions.
What you should include with the application form:
- Proof of residence. You can only apply for a permit at your main residence.
- Driving licence.
- Cheque for the correct amount.
- Vehicle registration certificate (V5C).
Examples of acceptable proof of residence are:
- A properly authorised lease.
- A council tax bill or notification.
- Mortgage agreement.
Once you have completed your form send it to: Director of Finance, Residents' Parking Section, The City of Edinburgh Council, 249 High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1YJ.

- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:30am - 4:30pm
