Report a statutory nuisance

The Public Health Team investigates complaints of 'statutory nuisance'. This is an environmental problem that can affect people's health and welfare such as water leaks, dampness, odour, fumes, dust, disrepair in property, dirty houses etc.

If someone is causing a nuisance and they do not try to stop or fix the problem the Public Health Team can either serve a notice forcing the person to fix the problem, or if need be arrange for the work to be carried out and then recover the costs.

Contact us if you want to report an environmental problem or nuisance.

Further information on what is classed as a statutory nuisance can be found at the Scottish Government website.
