Occasional Licence Application

The Licensing ( Scotland ) Act 2005 provides for an Occasional Licence to cater for the sale of alcohol at a venue which does not hold a Premises Licence.

Do I need a Licence?

Yes.  If you wish to sell alcohol and the venue is not already covered by a Premises Licence.

What conditions apply to a Licence?

Each licence issued is subject to mandatory conditions.  These are attached to all occasional licences granted anywhere in Scotland . In addition to the mandatory conditions, an occasional licence can be made subject to local conditions that are only applicable to a particular licence.

Are you eligible to apply for a Licence?

An applicant must be either:

1.      the holder of a Premises Licence, or

2.      the holder of a Personal Licence, or

3.      a representative of any voluntary organisation.

Are you eligible to hold a licence?

A voluntary organisation can only apply for occasional licences having effect in total for a maximum of 56 days in any period of 12 months.
