All premises must have a designated premises manager who holds a Personal Licence. Individuals must apply for Personal Licence which allows the licensed individual to authorise or supervise the sale of alcohol, provided that the licence holder authorises every sale of alcohol in the premises, either in person or generally.
The conditions that apply
There are no conditions attached to a Personal Licence. There is a duty on a licenceholder to undertake refresher training every five years.
Who is eligible to apply
Any person aged 18 or over may apply to the Licensing Board for a Personal Licence provided they have a licensing qualification and no personal licence previously held has been revoked with the five year period immediately prior to the date of application.

The fee is £50
How to apply
Applicants must complete the Personal Licence application form and submit it with the appropriate documentation, including their Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders to the Licensing Section, along with the standard fee.You will shortly be able to make and pay for an application on-line at ELMS.
The Government has accredited certain courses of training.
