An application for transfer of premises licence has to be made to the Licensing Board within 28 days of:
- A licenceholder dying or becoming incapable
- A licenceholder becoming insolvent or being dissolved
- The business carried on in the premises being transferred by sale or otherwise to another person
Such an application can be made by any person except an individual under the age of 18 or the premises licence holder.
The premises licenceholder can apply at any time for a transfer to any person specified in an application
The conditions that apply
There are none. However, a person making an application for transfer can also apply for a variation of the licence and that can include a variation of the conditions attached to the premises licence.

How to apply
You should download and complete the transfer of premises licence application form and submit it along with the premises licence and fee to the Licensing Board. You can now apply online using the Elms portal supplied by the Uk Government's Department for Business Innovation and Skills. Links will be made available from this page. Costs
The amount varies depending on whether the transfer includes a variation.
What information needs to be provided
An application must be accompanied by the appropriate fee and the premises licence. If the premises licence is not available there must be a statement of the reasons for the failure to produce the licence.
How the application is dealt with
On receipt of the application form, the Licensing Board will acknowledge and will notify the application to the Chief Constable.
