The City of Edinburgh Licensing Board is the statutory licensing authority under the Licensing (Scotland ) Act 2005 and the Gambling Act 2005 for the City of Edinburgh Council area and is responsible for Alcohol Licences and Betting and Gaming Licences and Permits.
The Board is an independent body of ten local authority Councillors elected by the City of Edinburgh Council.
The Licensing Board is also responsible for creating policies such as the 'Adult Entertainment Policy', which was created to protect both the patrons and those working in such premises and the Freedom of Information Scheme outlining the documents available under the scheme and any charges applicable.
