Food Hygiene Information Scheme

Food Hygiene Information Scheme

The Food Hygiene Information Scheme is a national scheme that lets consumers see how well food businesses in their area did in their last food hygiene inspection. Search inspection results for food businesses in Edinburgh.

We issue businesses with certificates to display on their door or window showing 'Pass', 'Improvement Required' or 'Awaiting Inspection' to show you their food hygiene status. Some very low risk businesses may be exempt from the scheme.

Around 1,600 food businesses in the New Town, Old Town, Bruntsfield and Tollcross area are currently in the Food Hygiene Information Scheme but is now in the process of being rolled out city wide.
