Over 100 food waste recycling points have been rolled out as part of the on street food waste recycling service. The service will expand city wide to ensure that all residents have access by 2013.
If your street or development has a food waste recycling point you can order a starter pack by contacting us. This will contain a small indoor kitchen caddy, a roll of compostable sacks and an information leaflet. It's easy to take part; place the compostable liner into the indoor kitchen caddy, fill it with left over food and scraps, tie the liner, place the compostable liner into the on-street food recycling bank in your street.
Compostable liners for your kitchen caddy are available to buy in some local shops, most large supermarkets and through online retailers. The indoor food waste kitchen caddy is 5 litres but we would recommend a 7 litre bag to ensure that you are able to tie the bag closed.
