Community recycling centres

What you can recycle at your community recycling centre

waste and recycling

Edinburgh has three community recycling centres (CRC) where you can deposit household waste and recycle.

They are located at the following locations:

Opening hours

8am - 7.30pm Monday - Friday
8am - 6pm     Saturday & Sunday

What you can recycle

There are Reuse Cabins at each recycling centre where you can donate reusable household items like furniture, as well as bikes. These things will be collected by local charities who pass them on to people in need.  Items must be in full working order and comply with current fire and/or safety regulations.

You can also recycle items including bikes, bricks, cardboard, carpets, energy saving light bulbs, engine oil, car batteries, tyres, fridges, freezers, fluorescent tubes, garden waste, gas bottles, glass, household batteries, large electrical equipment, low grade wood , metal, mattresses, packaging, paper, small electrical items, solid wood and TVs. Before you visit you may want to separate your items to make recycling easier.
