James Gillespies Campus

The James Gillespie's campus is a unique setting for learning in a popular residential area. It's special character is highly valued by the pupils, staff and parents of both James Gillespie's High School and James Gillespie's Primary School which are near neighbours on the site.

We now propose to rebuild the High School on site, to offer the school's students a fresh, modern and inspiring environment for learning. At the same time we plan to extend and improve the Primary School by building a new gym and a new nursery and to create two new class spaces to replace the temporary unit.

Bruntsfield House, an A-listed historic building, sits at the heart of the site and it is important that we make sure that any proposals are sympathetic and enhance the setting of the house.

The gallery images show images of the proposals as they are in mid-March 2011. The aim of the public consultation is to get the views and feedback of local people about these proposals. All comments received by 22 April will be considered as the designs are developed further in May 2011.
