Proposal Craigmount High’s catchment area would reduce in size.
All parts of the Craigmount High catchment area west of Maybury Road would go to the new West Edinburgh High School when it opens in August 2022.

Pupils at Roseburn Primary, who currently go to Craigmount High, would go to Tynecastle High from August 2019.

Pupils at Hillwood Primary, who currently go to Craigmount High, would go to West Edinburgh High School when it opens in August 2022.

New P1 pupils living in Corstorphine Primary’s catchment west of Maybury Road would go to Maybury Primary School when it opens in August 2021.

Pupils currently in P1 to P3 and living in Corstorphine Primary’s catchment area west of Maybury Road would go to the new West Edinburgh High when it opens in August 2022.

Pupils currently in P4 to P7 and living in Corstorphine Primary’s catchment area west of Maybury Road would continue to go to Craigmount High.

Pupils currently P6 and below and living in the Roseburn Primary catchment area would go to Tynecastle High when they reach S1.

Pupils currently in P1 to P3 and living in Hillwood Primary’s catchment area would go to West Edinburgh High when it opens in August 2022.

Pupils currently in P4 to P7 and living in Hillwood Primary’s catchment area would continue to go to Craigmount High.
Reasons for the proposal Due to proposed new developments, Craigmount High will be unable to provide places for all the pupils in its catchment area.
Due to limitations in its supporting accommodation, Craigmount cannot be expanded.

Changing Roseburn Primary’s secondary school to Tynecastle High will provide extra space to support growth at Craigmount High.
Roseburn Primary is closer to Tynecastle High School than Craigmount - 1.3km rather than 5km.

Tynecastle High will be able to provide places for pupils from the Roseburn Primary catchment.
