|Petition details||We the residents of the Dubmbiedykes, especially the elderly and disabled and mothers with buggies, experience difficulty in accessing local services, retail opportunities and community facilities in the southside area. We, the residents of the Dubmbiedykes estate wish to petition for a change of route for the 36 bus or for a new service to link Holyrood Valley with the Southside of the City.|

On 22 January 2013 the Petitions Committee agreed:
1) To ask the Director of Services for Communities to provide an interim report to the Transport and Environment Committee on 19 March 2013 with a more detailed report to be provided to the Transport and Environment Committee in June 2013, to include:
a) an update on the changing demographic in the Dumbiedykes area since the last bus service was discontinued.
b) an update on discussions with bus operators including the feasibility of re-routing existing services.
c) details of the complexities of the tendering process.
d) details of bus fare pricing.
e) details of Community Transport providers i.e. Dial-a-Bus; Dial-a-Ride, and taxi cab allowances.
2) To note that the Convener would discuss the issues surrounding social isolation with the Director of Health and Social Care.
