Fast facts – park and ride

100,000 cars used Ingliston and Hermiston Park and Ride in their first six months of operation
There are now well over 100 park and ride sites in the UK
More than 15 towns and cities across the UK have three or more sites. Edinburgh can lay claim to currently having four sites (including Ferrytoll in association with Fife Council), alongside big park and ride players Cambridge and Oxford.

79% use the sites to go to work, 15% to go shopping and 2% for education
the parking facilities were rated ‘very good’ by 92% and ‘good’ by 8%
waiting facilities were rated ‘very good’ by 85% and good by 15% ‘good’
the overall service was rated ‘very good’ and ‘good’ by13%
the frequency of the buses was rated ‘very good’ by 77% and ‘good’ by 17%
the cost of the parking and ride was rated ‘very good’ by 85%, ‘good’ by 12% and ‘expensive’ by 3%
