Ballot Result
The results of the housing transfer ballot were announced on 15th December 2005.
Council tenants in Edinburgh voted "no" to the transfer of council homes to City of Edinburgh Housing Association (CEHA).
The ballot was run by Electoral Reform Services, the independent body that oversees ballots and elections in the UK.
There was a 60.5% turnout in the ballot and the final results were:
6,553 (47%) in favour of housing transfer
7,301 (53%) against
This results means that housing transfer will not go ahead.
