Housing Management - Service Standards
When you become a tenant

We will inspect all properties and arrange essential work before customers view them. Any repairs to be carried out after the tenancy starts will be clearly detailed and appointments made.

We will make an appointment for you to sign the tenancy agreement, explain the tenancy agreement and right to buy, advise you of your responsibilities as a tenant and our responsibilities as a landlord, help with any Housing Benefit claim and give you information about your new home and area.

If needed, we will provide information about tenancy support (how to maintain your tenancy if you get into difficulties) and other services.

We will give clear guidance on maintaining your tenancy and how to pay your rent. We will give you a Tenant’s Handbook that explains this.

We will provide information about our home contents insurance.

We will contact you within the first six weeks of your tenancy.
