Scotland's best place to live

Stockbridge has been named one of the UK’s top places to live by the Sunday Times - and the best in Scotland!

Nestled between Comely Bank and the New Town and home to the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and an array of shops, restaurants and bars; Stockbridge is a favourite destination for many Edinburgh residents.

Gavin Barrie, Edinburgh’s Economy Convenor and a ward Councillor for the area, said: “This news comes as no surprise to anyone who has lived, worked and visited Stockbridge.

"With a vibrant village of independent shops, bars and restaurants, the beautiful Royal Botanic Garden of Edinburgh and just a 15 minute stroll to the city centre, the area has previously been called one of the UK’s ‘Coolest Places to Live’.

"While Stockbridge provides a flavour of all that the Capital city has to offer, it’s just one of many town centres helping to crown Edinburgh the UK’s best place to live according to Moneysupermarket.”
