Make a difference and help to shape health and social care
Members of the public are being given the opportunity to shape the way that health and social care is delivered in Edinburgh.
They are being invited to comment on a major consultation into the recently formed Edinburgh Integration Joint Board from today (Tuesday August 4th).
The Board fuses the health and social care budgets of the City of Edinburgh Council and NHS Lothian, and feedback from the consultation will be used to form its strategic commissioning plan.
The views and opinions of staff, service users, carers, the voluntary and independent sectors and local communities will play an important role in the new set-up.
Integrating these services will allow the partnership to:
• train and support staff to work together to meet people’s needs.
Chairman George Walker said: "The delivery of health and social care in Edinburgh is going through a challenging time due to a variety of pressures, but streamlining these services through integration will help to deal with these and will help lead to better outcomes.
