Help to shape the future of Queensferry

The Council, Queensferry and District Community Council and Queensferry Ambition are holding events on Thursday, 6 August and Saturday, 8 August to help shape the future of the area.

This follows on from the Shaping the Future of Queensferry Report published in April 2014.

This event will pilot the use of the Place Standard developed by Architecture and Design Scotland, the Scottish Government and NHS Scotland. This is an interactive tool which allows a community to assess its own strengths and weaknesses in terms of its qualities as a place in which to live and work. Groups of people will discuss set questions about the quality of their environment addressing such issues as access to greenspace and parking levels. The discussion from this will help the Council, the community and developers better understand the needs of Queensferry.

Cllr Perry, Convenor of the Council’s Planning Committee said, “This is an exciting opportunity for everyone in Queensferry to get involved in helping to shape the future of the area. It is the first time we have used this process and we need  as many participants as possible to take part to make sure that the local community is in agreement about the future direction for the area.”

Further information can be found on the Council’s Consultation Hub

The events will be held on Thursday, 6 August from 4-8pm and Saturday 8 August from 9am-1pm at Queensferry High School.
