Race to spectate!

The latest weather forecasts predict Edinburgh will be sunny and dry this weekend, offering the perfect conditions to watch one the city’s biggest Spring sporting events.

The Morrisons Great Edinburgh Run will take place this Sunday (19 April) and will see over 5,000 people take part in a 10 mile race around the Capital.

Taking runners from Arthur’s Seat to Princes Street, through the Meadows and back to Holyrood Park, the event is famous for its breathtaking Edinburgh views and landmarks.

This event is suitable for regular runners and those looking to increase their distance, but it’s also great fun to watch and participants always appreciate a supportive cheer from spectators.

Councillor Richard Lewis, Festivals and Events Champion for the City of Edinburgh Council, said: "The Great Edinburgh Run has become a firm fixture on the Capital’s Spring calendar and has proved popular with runners and spectators alike. Over 5,000 people are set to take part this weekend, and with the backdrop of Edinburgh’s ancient volcano Arthur’s Seat and spectacular landmarks like the Scott Monument, it’s certainly a unique setting for a race. Good luck to the runners and spectators and enjoy yourselves!”
