A new GTG centre in Edinburgh

This week, GTG Training officially opened its new, larger, state-of-the-art premises in Edinburgh.

I was at the purpose-built training and conference centre to unveil the facilities and I was joined by the long-distance cyclist Mark Beaumont and a crowd of his fans.

At the launch, Mark shared his inspirational story and attendees had the chance to take part in taster sessions and experience the xpert training for themselves!

Having been established in Edinburgh for more than 20 years, GTG will continue to offer tuition to clients and students through four training divisions; transport, automotive, health & safety and business skills.

The new centre offers modern apprenticeship programmes, with initiatives to get young people into employment after training is complete.

The hope is, the venue will bring work-relevant educational experiences for young people, and also give employers the chance to offer first class training to staff, improving workforce skills and encourage professional development.

It's so important to offer programmes like this to young people, and as someone who was a teacher in a previous life, I can vouch for the success of getting young people hands on with work experience to encourage an interest in the world of work.

You can find out about courses here.
