Ross Theatre to showcase summer nights

Magners Summer Nights 2015 has confirmed an extension of the festival to the Ross Theatre in Edinburgh.

Magners Irish Cider and Regular Music have announced today that the Magners Summer Nights Festival will extend to Edinburgh this year.

Last year The Waterboys, Capercaillie, Alison Moyet, Teenage Fanclub, Steve Earle and Squeeze all played to capacity crowds at the Kelvingrove Band Stand in Glasgow. Full line ups for 2015 will be announced in the coming weeks.

Councillor Steve Cardownie, Edinburgh’s Festivals and Events Champion, said: “Magners Summer Nights will kick in just as Edinburgh’s festival season reaches a peak. The concerts will be a great way to wave goodbye to August, and will showcase some of the best musical talent at the Ross Theatre. Situated in the heart of Princes Street Gardens in-between the Old and New Towns, the Ross Theatre will offer a unique setting to soak up these three nights of live music.”

Paul Condron, Marketing Director for Magners Irish Cider said: 'We were delighted with the success of last year’s inaugural Magners Summer Nights Festival in Glasgow. We are excited to confirm another 6 night run at The Kelvingrove Park Bandstand this August over 2 weekends (6-8th and 13-15th August) and to announce that we are extending the festival to Edinburgh for 3 nights (26th – 28th August) at the amazing Ross Bandstand, in Princes Street Gardens with Edinburgh Castle as our stunning backdrop. Artist details will be announced shortly.”

Both sites will feature a Magners Village with a cider garden, premium street food and areas to relax before the shows and enjoy these two truly spectacular venues with friends. Gates will open at 6pm each night.

Mark Mackie, director of Regular Music said: “This is great news, with the help of Magners we are now able to extend the Magners Summer Nights Festival to Edinburgh, in the beautiful setting of Princes Street Gardens, under the shadow of Edinburgh Castle. The timing could not be more perfect, as it will take place during the world famous Edinburgh Festival Fringe. This will be the first of what we all hope will become an annual event."
