Look who's coming #TeamEdinburgh

Find out which Team Scotland athletes will be in town tonight for the council's homecoming celebration for Edinburgh's competitors.

Tonight, Commonwealth Games fans will have the chance to meet Edinburgh’s Team Scotland athletes at a celebration taking place between 6:00-6:30pm (Friday 29 August).

30 athletes have now been confirmed to take part in the event, which will take place directly outside the City Chambers on the High Street.

Scottish comedian and commentator Alan Anderson will interview the athletes, and fans are being encouraged to share their photos of the event on social media using #TeamEdinburgh. Questions and messages of support for athletes can also be submitted to the @Edinburgh_CC Twitter account for Alan to read out on the night.

Full event timings

6pm- 6.30pm: Lord Provost welcome and athlete introduction by Alan Anderson outside the City Chambers to the gathered crowd. Athletes will meet and greet fans, and be available for interview.

6:30-7.15pm: Athletes to attend private civic reception in the European Room in the City Chambers. This will not be public, but media welcome to attend.

7.15pm-9.00pm: The Lord Provost will present gifts to athletes in the main chamber, Councillor Richard Lewis will welcome the annual Edinburgh Sport Awards, local sports people and clubs will be presented with awards, some awards will be presented by athletes. This will not be public, but media welcome to attend.
