Important travel information for Sunday 15 April

The Edinburgh Rock and Roll Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 15th April with a number of road closures in east Edinburgh and Old Town.

These will impact on supporters travelling from East Lothian and east Edinburgh to the Scottish Cup Semi Final at Hampden Park between Heart of Midlothian FC and Celtic FC.

This is likely to cause severe delays in the following areas:

  • London Road at Meadowbank between 8.30am and 9.30am
  • Seafield Road East between 9am and 10.45am
  • Portobello High Street between 9am and 11am
  • Milton Road West between 9am and 11.30am

There will also be a number of road closures around the Edinburgh Old Town including the Cowgate and Grassmarket.

Supporters clubs and supporters travelling from East Lothian or the east side of Edinburgh are being encouraged to adjust their departures and journey times to ensure they arrive at Hampden Park in plenty of time for the semi final.

If using Sir Harry Lauder Road and Portobello Road, travel through these after 9.30am, or alternatively use the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass.

Road closure and journey planning information can be found on our website. For up-to-the-minute travel information and advice visit @edintravel twitter page and tweet your travel updates, safely, using #edintravel.
