Take a trip into the Edinburgh of centuries past this weekend and enjoy one of the fantastic events happening at our museums and galleries for the Festival of Museums 2012

Solomon's Temple 'flummery' at the Museum of Edinburgh PHOTO: An 18th century 'flummery' in the shame of Solomon's Temple, made by food historian Ivan Day.  

Crocant, Collops & Codsounds at the newly refurbished Museum of Edinburgh on Sunday will celebrate 18th century life, food and music, while Enchanted Garden events at the City Art Centre on Saturday will explore the mysteries of gardens real and imaginary.

Lauriston Castle tonight plays host to Death over Dinner, an Edwardian Murder Mystery and tomorrow, the Castle will go continental with a Summer Venetian Masked Ball.
