Libraries launch new online resources

As the school year begins again this week, Edinburgh libraries have introduced two new interactive online tools to help children with their maths and spelling.

Mathletics is Britain's most popular maths website and comes recommended by Countdown's Rachel Riley, with thousands of games and activities for students to try out themselves or compete with friends.

Spellzone is also an online interactive spelling course aimed at improving English spelling in schools, colleges and adult training centres. It also helps people with dyslexia and those learning English.
