Lord Provost welcomes His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Edinburgh
Lord Provost Donald Wilson welcomes His Holiness the Dalai Lama as he arrives in Scotland's Capital.
Lord Provost Donald Wilson said: "It was a great honour to welcome His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Edinburgh. Personally speaking, it was one of the high points of my first month in office."
His Holiness the Dalai Lama will tomorrow close the 20th anniversary series of The Edinburgh Lectures with a sell-out talk at the Usher Hall.
The final lecture is entitled "Beyond religion: ethics for a whole world", presented in partnership with the Edinburgh Interfaith Association.
