Clyde changes course for Dance Fest

St Andrew’s Day saw Clyde – the Glasgow 2014 Mascot – join children from all across Edinburgh at the city’s annual Dance Fest.

Held at the Community Sports Hub at Forrester High School, the event was the culmination of a dance programme that aimed to encourage local children to get active, whilst teaching them more about the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The children performed dances customary to countries from across the Commonwealth that they had been learned over the past 12 weeks. It is hoped they will continue to take part in sport and physical activity.

The event was staged as part of the Games for Scotland - an exciting calendar of events designed to inspire, motive, engage and stimulate pride in the people of Scotland in the build-up to Glasgow 2014 on beyond.

Managed by EventScotland, it forms a key part of the Scottish Government's commitment to deliver a lasting legacy as a result of the Commonwealth Games coming to Scotland.
